The beginning of all sorrows
from the dawn of mankind
began with the doubting of God’s word
a seed planted in mind

where the truth has been compromised
blended to mix with lies
man got his eyes off the Lord
temptation then demise

when God had walked and dwelt with man
man had all that was known
needing nothing more for pleasure
God’s truth so plainly shown
____
with security in paradise
no reason for man’s fear
before rebellion changed the world
God’s word had been revered
____
but sin had come because of doubt
as Satan still does use
his wiles to keep mankind in chains
to sway man’s power to choose
____
thus God has come to redeem us
His word is true today
bringing man back into His care
the truth becomes the way
____
standing firm and believing truth
removes doubt from faith
that the word of God shall prove real
and keeps a person safe
